Waikiki Car Rentals

You can drive across the island of Oahu in about an hour with a car, that is of course, if you’ve rented one. It doesn’t really make sense to ship your car to the island (which costs thousands) unless you’re going to move here. So waikiki car rentals it is!

Renting your own car allows you to explore sites on your own time and truly see what Oahu and Waikiki have to offer. You won’t have to worry about being rushed by your tour guide since you’ll be your very own tour guide! You’ll also have a lot more freedom, which if you’re an adventurer like me, is something that’s more fun than crossing off every destination on your list.

Waikiki car rentals are very straight forward. The island is busy so there are a lot of operators on the island. You’ll find them all Enterprise, Hertz, Budget, Alamo, and a few others.

How do you choose? Well if you have a preferred membership with one of the car rental companies it’s an obvious choice, but for most of the world (myself included) who doesn’t rent car’s that often, what are we to do?

Doing the Market Research

In order to save you time I called up each car rental place and asked them for information on each model. See the chart below.

What are the Popular Car Rentals

Since you’re in Hawaii it shouldn’t come as a surprise that anything without a roof is popular. From what I see walking around Waikiki everyday there are a significant number of Ford Mustangs and Jeep Wranglers carting around vacationers.

Rent an Exotic Car While in Hawaii

Although the auto bond is on the other side of the planet and long stretches of open highway are far and few between on Oahu, you can still rent an exotic ride to tour the island with. Perhaps your drive from the North Shore to Waikiki will take 30 minutes instead of an hour?
